Ben is a native of Colorado Springs and graduated from Palmer High School, Harvard University and the University of Virginia Law School. Ben is a practicing attorney, admitted in Colorado and California. Ben started law practice at a large firm in Silicon Valley in 1989. He returned to Colorado Springs in 1994 to join the firm now known as Sparks Willson, PC., where he is currently chairman. Ben practices in the areas of corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, technology licensing, and securities.  From 2003-2005, Ben was Chairman of the Colorado Bar Association Business Law Section. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Journal of International Law.

Outside of the practice of law, Ben is active in the non-profit community.  He is currently chairman of the Joseph Henry Edmondson Foundation and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Viola Vestal Coulter Foundation.
