Welcome to the Colorado Springs Community Cultural Collective (CSCCC) and the Creative Workforce Programming: Opus Creative Industries (Opus). Opus brings community to a space of passion and purpose that will ultimately lead to prosperity. CSCCC is committed to affording access for all citizens to a culturally rich landscape that includes creativity in all its manifestations. Opus does this through experiences that lead to job creation and life fulfillment for all who participate as well as the greater human community.
Opus Creative Industries is where potential meets opportunity. The name “Opus” resonates with our mission, derived from the Latin word for ‘work’. Opus Creative Programs are real-time, earn-and-learn workforce programs in three key economic sectors: Media Art and Creative Technologies, Early Childhood Development, and Enrichment and Culinary and Hospitality. These unique on the job training programs provide an education and accountability that affords participating students access to employment with industry partners that are invested every step of the way.
At 1 South Nevada, these FREE bi-monthly sessions for Friends, Family, and Neightboors (FFN) that includes music, art, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, face-painting and much needed social interaction for both care takers and participating children. A partnership between CSCCC and Joint Initiatives, has identified that this informal group of caregivers are overwhelmingly in need of resources and connections in this post-Covid era.
Children (ages birth–5) and their parents, caregivers, grandparents, and/or favorite adults are invited for a playful morning of music, movement, art, and fun together!

Based on the Simple Gift Series Music and Literacy Program, the Simple Gift Schoolhouse (SGS) training program gives early childhood educators and caregivers permission to understand how their own personal creative essence can and will inspire when the youngest learner. Courageous creativity is taught in groups and individually.
Every classroom is unique in their needs and the SGS program instills an understanding of how to bring music, rhymes, rhythms, and curiosity to each student and situation. Wether circle time, transitions or various curriculum, the SGS program has proven successful to over 500+ teachers, educators, and caregivers in the Pikes Peak Region.
The Training is utilized for retention and recruitment and done in partnership with Joint Initiatives, Head Start, and Early Start. The training Provides retention skills and ongoing development for social emotional, cognitive, motor skills, numeracy, literacy, phonemic awareness and collaboration.
The CSCCC is currently working alongside the Pikes Peak Workforce Center and the Colorado Apprenticeship HUB to enlist as an Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) to create Internships, Pre-Apprenticeships, and Registered Apprenticeships. The Success of the initial Opus programs demonstrates need, viability, sustainability, and long term economic impact for participants and community.

The successful program offers skills to preschool teachers through workshops and coaching that combine music, movement, and early reading skills. The program emphasizes taking risks, fun, building teams and being creative while teaching. The SG Scholars program provides professional development that meets Colorado’s pre-kindergarten and kindergarten literacy standards. Teachers can immediately take lessons learned and put them to use in the classroom. The program partners include the Joint Initiatives for Youth and Families and is also used by local preschool and childcare employers as a stackable credit for increased pay and employee retention.
